We had a wonderful stay at Newlands in early September as part of a 'C2C' cycle.
Andy and Sue were brilliant hosts from the outset, helping us put the bikes away securely and providing steaming hot tea and chocolate biscuits. We had a long chat, and our hosts made us feel comfortable and relaxed before showing us to a huge immaculate family room with all the facilities you'd wish for after a long cycle including a huge en-suite with a bath and a separate shower.
They also recommended a few places in the village to eat and Sue was kind enough to book us into the Jet Miners pub for dinner which served exceptional food (in huge portions) and lovely local ales.
The next morning's breakfast was perfectly cooked and capped off a great visit. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed there while walking the Coast to Coast. Andy picked us up at Clay Bank Top, and returned us the next morning. Andy and Sue were the only hosts on our whole walk who took the time to sit down and visit, after we arrived. We enjoyed getting to know them, and learning more about England. After leaving our UK adaptor behind, and not discovering it was gone until we arrived at Blakey Ridge, Andy graciously volunteered to deliver it to our next B&B stop. Sue and Andy provided us with a very delicious meal in the morning. They felt like new friends!! I would easily recommend this B&B to everyone!! Thanks, Andy and Sue for a beyond perfect visit.

We were visiting a relative in the area and we had previously stayed in Gt. Broughton. We hadn't stayed at Newlands House before so gave them our custom. We read the previous reviews and were very impressed. However when we booked we were surprised to learn that Andy and Sue had recently taken over from the previous owners. We were even more surprised to learn that we were their first 'official' paying guests ! They were fantastic ... very friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The breakfast was plentiful and well presented. They had maintained the service standards of the previous owners perfectly. We had the double room in the front which was spotless and comfortable and the bathroom ... palatial !! We would recommend Newlands House to everyone !

Used great broughton as a stop off on c to c. It is a good place to split up some otherwise long days. Andrea kindly collected us from Clay Bank top after just 5 mins ..excellent service! Orange / EE
phone signal ok from clay bank roadside.
Excellent room with bath and shower en suite. Warm hallway to dry wet boots and coats. Welcome cup of tea in lounge.
This is a first class B and B you won't be disappointed. Lovely breakfast and lift back to Clay Bank to continue walk.
A big thank you for your hospitality. Ps recommended you to a lone c to c walker going e to west

I can thoroughly recommend this b and b if you are doing the Cleveland Way. The owner, Andrea, comes to pick you up when you drop down off the moors and runs you back after breakfast the next
morning. She is super friendly and helpful. My friend and I were exhausted on arrival from Osmotherley and Andrea immediately brought us up a pot of tea with biscuits to our twin room, despite our
having tea-making facilities in it. We had a massive ensuite bathroom with a great big bath tub. The only negative about the room is that there was not much space around the beds to put stuff. The
breakfast was great with treats like seeds and little dried fruits with which to sprinkle your cereal. Andrea told us about our dinner options and we had a very nice meal with great service at the
Jetminers Arms, about two minutes away. Andrea and her husband are hikers themselves, so have a good understanding of their guests' needs.

Lovely, clean with a spacious bathroom. The bath was a great treat after our long trek. Andrea was very helpful and brought us tea and biccies on our arrival. She also booked us into the local
restaurant for dinner. The Jetminers was superb with great food and friendly atmosphere.
We unpacked our luggage in the bathroom which had loads of area space.
Our hostess provided a good breakfast with porridge, hot breakfast and fruit, seeds and nuts, with a recommendation on a lunch stop,on our next stage. The White Lion was a great pub serving good food
before our we continued on the moors.
Would definitely stay there again.

Andrea made us very welcome and even picked us up from Clay Bank Top, dropping us off again the next day so we could continue our Coast to Coast walk. She gave us tips about where to eat in the
evening and cooked a delicious breakfast the next morning. Our room was spacious, very clean and with a huge ensuite bathroom. Perfect!
